A Letter from Melbourne Reiki’s Founder, Deborah Dalziel
Hello! I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Deborah or ‘Deb’ as most people know me by. I began Melbourne Reiki Centre in 2012, opening up in our current location in Hawthorn in 2014.
I have an abiding passion helping people connect within for healing & wellness.
I have an abiding passion for encouraging your innate ability to self-heal
This passion has guided my career choices from Primary Teaching to the Business Sector as an Executive Coach, Trainer and Facilitator and in 2006 founding my own Training Company, Fresh Outcomes. I rested Fresh as a brand in 2015 and my focus since has been here at Melbourne Reiki Centre.
I genuinely love sharing this passion of mine and educating how easy it is to bring this spiritual practice into your own daily life and heal from within. You truly can be a person who has confidence in your inner knowledge to sustaining your wellness and vitality in both mind and body. A practice you can do anywhere at anytime.
Questions for Deb!
How did you decide to study Reiki? Did Reiki find you?
I began practicing Yoga in my 20’s and from this developed an interest in sitting meditation. I practiced by myself from books and tapes initially (yes I know no apps back then) and then began learning with different teachers. In 2009 I met and studied with Frans Stiene and thus my Reiki Journey formally began. At this time I then remembered that I had witnessed the healing practice of Reiki back in my 20s while trekking in Borneo, but I clearly wasn’t ready then. I do still have a photo of someone offering hands-on-healing so it captivated me to want to know more but it took until my mid 30s before this transpired. And this is the best way, we study when we are ready.
I have since learned with other Reiki and Buddhist teachers as well as becoming a Yin Yoga teacher in 2017. Reiki is my grounding and supports my inner growth and development as a being. I have found the teachings deeply applicable to this modern life and feel very blessed they found me and I woke up enough to hear them calling me!
What further Reiki Training have you done? Are you doing?
We all know that the initial training course you do is just the beginning. I attended my Reiki Teacher/Master Training or Shinpiden, as it is known in Reiki, in 2011. My study continues within my own daily practice as well as attending retreats and other Meditation & Reiki studies. In 2012 I also studied with Hyakuten Inamoto extending my personal practice. I have also studied, with Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source and am a certified Animal Meditation & Reiki Specialist Teacher for healing with animals.
Professional development and deeper studies that have been, and still are, a key part of my journey.

Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
Accredited in TMS (Team Management Systems)
